March through April have got to be the toughest months for me to get through. Maybe my deer friends feel the same way. We are all anxious for the warm weather to come and stay! The older I get, the more impatient I get. I have told my mom for years that winter here is six months long (in my own little mind). Now I tell her it is 7 MONTHS LONG! LOL When I see how tough it can be on my wild friends to make it through the winter, I consider myself lucky. They adapt to any weather conditions and seem very patient. I feel so blessed that they have come to trust me in this way and stop in for a quick visit and snack each day.
These are all very wild animals that have come to trust me in a very unique way. They stop in for a quick visit and smack, then head back out into the wild to live their normal lives. They have come to trust only me, and will run if anyone else comes walking down the road or tries to come into my yard It lets me know they won't walk up to just anybody, especially a hunter.
