A study released this month from a team of University of Washington School of Medicine researchers discovered a link between heightened screen time, diminished physical activity, and the emergence of mental health concerns among 1,000 children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The survey-based study appears in @JAMANetwork and takes a snapshot of the daily habits of children ranging in age from 6 to 17, from Oct. 22 to Nov. 2, 2020. In this video, the study's lead author Dr. Pooja Tandon (associate professor, Pediatrics) explains the apparent link that screens, physical activity, and youth mental health form.
