I haven't posted any bamboo updates for a while so here's one, finally. It's March and the new culms are just starting to push up! I can't wait until they take off. These plants will look completely different in about a month. I think this is their third year in my yard (leap year!) so we should see a dramatic jump forward.

In this video I'll show you how I trim my clumping bamboo plants to keep them looking healthy and vibrant. A good trimming also makes them look more attractive.

I have three Fargesia Robusta clumping bamboo plants in the middle. The two bamboo plants on the ends are Fargesia Scabrida. As you can see, the Robustas seem to do far better in full sunlight than do the Scabridas. I'm thinking of moving the Scabridas to a shadier location.
