Armored Bash is a fun tabletop hobby experience that offers loads of 3D printable parts that can be used to convert vehicles in games such as Warhammer 40k, Gaslands, and Necromunda. The bits can also be used to convert a toy vehicle. The packs include armor plating, weapons, exhausts, pipes, lights, battering rams, crushing claws, doors, hatches, weapon mounts, and more!

It all started when I (Dave) wanted to play a tabletop game with my kids but found the typical options were ridden with rules too complex and overwhelming for first-time gamers. So I went to a used toy shop and grabbed some spare bits from my “pile O shame” (extra Warhammer 40k terrain and vehicles parts, plus bits from other tabletop industrial terrain pieces). We glued all the parts onto the used toy trucks and had a blast doing it!

“Bashing” (or gluing) the spare parts onto our trucks was so much fun it became a social magnet on our dining room table. When family would visit we’d sit and hobby with them as we’d glue all sorts of parts onto these toys. However, we quickly discovered an obvious problem: we ran out of suitable bits and pieces to add to our vehicles.

So I asked Kyle from Gear Gut’s Mek Shop if he could design custom parts for our humble hobby experience. He accepted the challenge of designing EVERY part you see in Armored Bash, and we’ve now made it available for public use. Since all that time and effort was put into the designs, it made sense to make something out of it officially.

Some general questions:

Q. What types of printers are these for?

A. The armored plates can be printed support-free on FDM printers, but the rest are designed to be printed in resin.

Q. What scale are these?

A. These are designed to work on various scales, from 32mm games such as Necromunda, scaling down easily to fit 20mm scale games like Gaslands. They were also designed to match the scale of toy cars and trucks so you can kitbash vehicles you buy from your local toy store.

Q. Is there a game included?

A. We are working on building a fun, simple, and fast-paced game for you to play with vehicles that you kitbash. This will be coming out roughly in [TIMELINE?]... OR... We don't have an exact timeline on this, but we should have one soon.

Q. Are their STLs for vehicles too?

A. No, these are upgrade kits only. However, if you want vehicles, comment in the comments section and voice your desire for them. With enough requests, we’ll gauge interest and possibly produce them in future Frontiers.
