As part of the construction works for the new East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID), Platform A was closed to facilitate track connection to Tanah Merah. Furthermore, as this happens in the sector between Tanah Merah and Simei, train services were fully suspended in between Tampines and Simei from 7/12 to 9/12. Trains ran a shuttle service from Pasir Ris to Tampines and back, as well as Tanah Merah to Expo and back. As part of this change, trains running on the mainline EWL were forced to terminate at Tanah Merah and turnback to the west!
