Seen here is an exclusive video of the newest Xcelsior to hit the MTA New York City Bus fleet, New Flyer XD40 "Xcelsior" 7090.
This video was taken on its first day of service and as seen here, operating on the B14 to Utica Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, making its way through Sutter Avenue.
This is one of four pilot buses delivered and operating in service. 276 buses are scheduled for delivery by next year. Last I was told, this bus will be in East New York Depot for 45 days and for the next 45, to Jamaica Depot, but it's not set in stone.
These buses also features a multicolored Luminator Spectrum Destination sign, a pretty neat addition to the fleet. This bus is powered by a Cummins ISL9 engine and an Allison WB-400R Gen V transmission.
