About this video: Hello everyone and welcome back to the Breakdown. In today's video, I am going to be talking about how you can find other YouTube content creators to collaborate with and work with in order to help you both grow your audiences and make absolutely incredible content.
Now first things first, you need to realize that you aren't going to be working with a content creator that is 10 times your size. You aren't even going to be working with a content creator that is 2 times your size most likely. You are going to be working with another YouTuber around the same size as you. By doing this, you are going to have a lot easier time getting them to make content with you, and you will be sharing your audiences with each other. There is no way that every subscriber you both have is the same. Thus, some of their subscribers will come to your channel and some of your subscribers will go to theirs. Thus, you both grow together.
Now, with that expectation set, how do you even find channels like yours that are around the same size as yours? Well, there are a few good ways to this. One of the easiest is actually by using SocialBlade. SocialBlade will show you channels that are similar to yours in size. You can then look through these channels to see if you would want to work with any of them.
SocialBlade isn't the only way to find content creators to work with though. I'm sure you are a forum, Discord group, Facebook group, or something similar related around the content you create. If you aren't, do some Googling and find some. You won't regret it. Once you do, go ahead and ask around in these groups for people making content. Get to know them, and eventually bring up making content together. And that leads me on into the next part of working with other YouTubers - asking them to collaborate.
There are tons of different ways to reach out to content creators. Everything from using their business emails to even joining their Discords or just interacting with their content until they notice you. And overall, that can be one of the best methods. If you aren't already it a group with the person you want to collaborate with, my best suggestion is to just interact with their videos, post thoughtful comments, and support the videos they make. They'll eventually notice you, and then, when you do say, 'hey, maybe we could make a video together', they will be much more open to it.
In addition to interacting with their content though, you could email them, tweet them, or contact them on Discord, if they have a public Discord, and ask them to collaborate. If you do this though, you will most likely get an answer of 'No.' the reason for this is because they don't know you. People need to know who you are before they make content with you. They need to consider you a friend. Make a friend and you'll have much more than someone to make YouTube videos with. You'll have someone who will help you come up with ideas, who will help you research, and who can help you figure out the crazy world that is making YouTube videos.
And there you have it. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comment section below, and be sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. It really helps us out, and it means a ton to me!
