The WoodSongs Front Porch Association (WFPA) is a membership supported, international community of artists, writers, performers, painters and front porch pickers, referred to as "Song Farmers," who want to re-energize rural music in schools, homes, and hometowns. The WFPA will sponsor its first annual music festival and conference, called The Gathering, at the historic Museum of Appalachia in Tennessee (sixteen miles north of Knoxville on I-75) September 25 and 26, 2015. The proceeds of The Gathering, full of front porch workshops, concerts and artist showcase stages, will underwrite several music projects complete with lesson plans that are free to schools, colleges and home school families.
