The range gasket is the part of the range that seals the door to the oven, and allows the oven to retain internal temperatures during baking or broiling. Megan from Point & Click appliance repair will walk you step by step through this repair, replacing your gasket (part number WB32K3) on a GE range (model number JGBS07PEH2WW).
*WARNING: Before starting any repair, always make sure that the appliance is completely disconnected from the power source by unplugging it. This tutorial is meant to be a guide and should not be used in place of the installation instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Tools Needed:
-Needle Nose Pliers
Step-by-step how-to replace the gasket (part number WB32K3) on a GE range (model number JGBS07PEH2WW).
1.) Unplug your range from its power source.
2.) Open the door of your range.
3.) Using your hand or a set of needle nose pliers begin to lift up and wiggle the door gasket out you will notice it is held in by tabs all the way around.
4.) Continue lifting out and wiggling the door gasket all the way around the gasket until it is completely disconnected.
5.) Discard your defected range gasket.
6.) Take your new OEM replacement gasket and push the tabs into place, starting at the corner. (you will hear a snap when you push the gasket tabs into place this ensures the gasket is secure)
7.) Close your range door.
8.) Reconnect your range to its power source.
