In order to track Russian warships and a nuclear-powered submarine that is scheduled to arrive in Cuba on June 12, the US will send out naval vessels. The Russian submarine is being pursued by two destroyers of the US Navy and two ships that are towing sonar equipment behind them, US officials told CBS News. The remaining members of the Russian Navy detachment are allegedly being shadowed by a US Coast Guard cutter and another destroyer. The Russian vessels are anticipated to remain in the island nation until June 17, according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry. The visit has not yet been addressed by the Russian Ministry of Defence. However, it declared in May that a frigate Admiral Gorshkov led naval detachment had embarked on a "long-distance expedition."
