In this video, I share my experience flying the Robinson R44 helicopter for the first time. While I found it to be an impressive and enjoyable aircraft, like any airframe, it must be learned. Understanding the aircraft's limitations, as detailed in SFAR 73, is absolutely crucial for safe operation.

I believe the R44 is an excellent training aircraft. It teaches student pilots the importance of closely following flight manuals and mastering power management.
