Exploring the Old Train Tunnels near Donner Summit -

The old train tunnels up near Donner Summit in Truckee, CA are one of those spots that I explored at the beginning of the blog but hadn't been back to in years. I finally got a chance to visit again in late 2018 and it is still a really fascinating place to experience with miles of dark tunnels and lots of bats. There were tons of people there when I went this time but it is a large area and it is still possible for it to feel remote when you are exploring. Check it out if you are in the area but please do not destroy the tunnels with graffiti.
