The Taliban recently informed China that they have constructed a road to the Wakhan Corridor, aiming to establish a direct trade route between China and Afghanistan. Since taking over Afghanistan in 2021, the Taliban have been eager to connect with China. The road, called the Little Pamir Highway, extends 50 kilometers to the China-Afghanistan border. Now, the Taliban await China's approval to officially open this trade line. Despite the Taliban's repeated requests, China's decision hinges on the geopolitical and security stability of the Wakhan Corridor.
