A few highlights from our recent roadtrip to South Wales…

St Davids Cathedral was an unexpected highlight and we made it our mission to swim every day - and every spot was wonderfully unique. Our first swim was at harbour of The Mumbles, Swansea, then a beautiful walk took us down to Fall Bay on Gower. We spent the afternoon swimming and paddle-boarding in Dale, jumped off the wall in Porthclais Harbour and waded into the Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy (Tom jumped); the van was sufficiently covered in damp towels, wet swimsuits, and sand at the end of each day to show just how seriously we’d taken the mission.

In late 2021 July we set off to explore the Pembrokeshire coastline we’d heard so much about; it was about time we took Gloria (our converted Citroen Relay van) on a road trip, so we set our course for South Wales, and it certainly did not disappoint.

We were blessed with a glorious long-awaited heatwave which meant the warm summer days and beautiful sunsets could have convinced you that you were on an exotic Greek island. Delighted that, despite it being the start of the Welsh summer holidays, the roads, beaches and towns weren’t absolutely bursting as you’d expect in other popular holiday spots like Cornwall or Devon, but rather, they were bustling and still had a few parking spots and certainly no queues to talk of.

We spent mornings working, whilst the afternoons and evenings for saved for exploring, sightseeing, and enjoying the beautiful coastline.
South Wales… Pembrokeshire… We’ll be back. We have a coast path to hike!
