Nirmeen* and her family fled the war in Syria in 2012. After first moving to a resettlement camp in Lebanon, they have now been able to start a new life in Italy.

Leaving the past behind has been tough, but Nirmeen* is excited to start a new chapter and explore Italian culture as much as she can.

"Life in Italy is very, very beautiful, studying here is very good, and people are very nice and loving", she told us.

Now, she wishes for other children experiencing war to have the same chance as she had.
