Took this sweet single action revolver in 45LC to the range! In 1873, The U.S. Army adopted the Colt Single Action Army as it's standard issue sidearm. The Colt SAA, as it became known as, was chambered in the 45 Colt which was later nicknamed the 45 Long Colt. Since then, this revolver became the iconic pistol of the American West. Known as SAA, Model P, Peacemaker, M1873, and by a few other names, the Single Action would be portrayed in western movies, sparking an interest in the western genre. Yet again, with video games such as Red Dead Redemption, a new generation has sparked interest in the western genre. Long live the Single Action Army!
