What a fine song writer Gene de Paul was. The melody of this tune just seems to naturally unwind over beautifully subtle and shifting harmonies.
I grew up with the Sinatra version framed by a very atmospheric arrangement from Alex Stordhal so for me this song is definitely a ballad.
At the same time in my head are the many, many up tempo versions beloved of some great jazz musicians.

So I think I've gone for an up tempo slow ballad..........
