Russell Sharp Train Videos
It’s the afternoon of New Year’s Eve afternoon, Sunday, December 31, 2022, at Metra’s Ogilvie Transportation Center, in Chicago, Illinois. Originally this was the Chicago passenger station of the Chicago & North Western Railway. Their station here is gone, and the current Ogilvie Transportation Center station is a ground floor with shops and restaurants and the upper level has the stub end tracks, a small waiting room, and the Metra ticket agents.
First up we see a Metra EMD F40PH-3 locomotive doing some back and forth switching moves.
Next we see a Chicago Loop bound Chicago Transit Authority elevated train on a bridge that goes over the tracks leading into Metra’s Ogilvie Transportation Center.
Finally, we have a look at the Union Pacific Railroad EMD GP38-2 or GP38N locomotive that is sitting at the Ogilvie Transportation Center station, ready to provide any necessary switching of the Metra commuter trains.
