Hi fellow adventures,
The Bridge to Nowhere in the San Gabriel mountains is one of our top 3 Best hikes in Southern California. We started out at 9am, it was around 80° and by the end of the day it was 104° Making the natural pools absolutely inviting. We had them to ourselves under the bridge, a rare occasion.
Bring lots of water for a 9.7 mile total in and out hike. This excursion takes around 5-7 hours depending on your playtime in the creek and pools.
The first two pools are on the left before you cross the huge boulder covered riverbed. Great destination for a hiker that likes a challenge, not for the novice. A water idea, freeze your bottles the night before, or a bring a filter and snacks. Try to start early before it gets hot. Direct Sun is for 3/4 of the hike. One of the best hikes in Southern California for sure.
