A short time lapse of an alla prima, oil painting landscape sketch looking through my studio window in January 2021. This is an ongoing project (year long) where I have documented the changing landscape that I see each day from my studio in Cornwall. The view is looking towards the beautiful St Agnes Beacon.
Each sketch takes around 20 minutes and I usually paint the afternoon light as there are more shadows and contrast as the sun moves West. It has been a very rewarding project which will culminate in the publication of my first ever book!
With the help of Cultivator Cornwall I will publish the book in the Spring of 2021. It will be full of over 120 oil studies looking towards St Agnes Beacon on the North coast of Cornwall.
