LIONG / DRAGON DANCE PERFORMANCE with FUNNY CAISHEN (GOD OF FORTUNE) for CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION 2024 in INDONESIA
To celebrate Chinese New Year 2024 (2024 CNY), Pakuwon Trade Center (PTC) Surabaya is holding a series of lion dance and leang leong (dragon dance) shows on 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11 February 2024.
The event was held at the Atrium LG Floor of PTC by presenting a performance from Surya Naga lion dance and dragon dance troupe.

The dragon dance or liong is a vibrant and symbolic performance deeply rooted in Chinese culture. It involves a team of performers manipulating a long, flexible dragon made of colorful fabric and supported by poles. Accompanied by the rhythmic beat of drums, cymbals, and firecrackers, the dragon undulates and twists in a mesmerizing display, symbolizing power, wisdom, and good fortune. Often performed during festive occasions like Chinese New Year and other celebrations, the dragon dance is believed to bring luck and ward off evil spirits. It's a cherished tradition that showcases the artistry, coordination, and unity of the community.
