How to Cancel Reactance Using the Resonance Method for Matching Network.
In practice, most of the impedance are complex. For example, transistor input and output impedances, transmission lines and antennas. To handle these complex impedances, there are two basic approaches for Impedance Matching used: 1) Absorption and 2) Resonance methods.
Obviously, if the stray element values are greater than the calculated values, absorption method cannot take place.
Resonant Method
This method is to resonate any stray reactance with an equal and opposite reactance at the frequency of interest. Once this is done, the matching network design proceeds as though we have two pure resistances.
Design an impedance matching network that will block the flow of the DC from the source to the load in Figure below. The frequency of operation is 100 MHz.
