Among the 1,244 Adriatic islands, only a few inhabited ones stand out for the fact that there is no cars on them. One of them is the Prvić Island, located in Šibenik archipelago.
The whole island is under protection of the Croatian Ministry of Culture since the island is considered a cultural heritage.
Prvić is also known as Faust's island - the island of Faust Vrančić, scientist, historian, linguist, philosopher, mathematician and physicist, who lived in the 17th century, born in Šibenik, and spent his childhood on the island.
Fun fact 1: With an area of just under 2,5 km² and a few hundred inhabitants, it is the third most densely populated croatian island.
Fun fact 2: Even today, it is the only one from the category of small islands (less than 15 km²) that has two villages - Prvić Luka and Šepurine.
