A firefighter was hurt Monday morning while battling a house fire in Antelope when a portion of the roof collapsed, the Metro Fire Department said.
The blaze broke out just before 7:15 a.m. in the garage of a home in the 8000 block of Firestone Way.
While firefighters were attacking the flames, a portion of the roof over the garage came down. The moment was recorded on video by Sergiy Pelyp.
The firefighter was hit by falling debris and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, the fire department said.
"Fortunately, the debris that fell on him was basic lumber material, and we were able to lift that off of him and then pull him further down the driveway," Sacramento Metro Fire Capt. Chris Vestal said.
