Credit Unions VS Big Banks: Which is Better?
While both credit unions and big banks offer similar services, there are some differences between them.
For example, credit unions have fewer physical bank branches than big banks, and they aren't as technologically advanced.
The biggest banks offer better mobile apps and thousands of ATMs.
Most credit unions are still trying to catch up with the big banks in terms of services.
Credit unions are owned by their members, their main focus is their members. Banks, on the other hand, are for profit organizations.
Credit unions are more likely to focus on providing reasonable rates and benefits for their members.
Because credit unions don't have to distribute profits to shareholders, they can pass those savings on to their members, which means that they can offer lower APRs on loans. Also, credit unions tend to offer better rates for savings accounts, high-yield savings accounts, and CDs.
