On Wednesday, 13 July 2022 from 14:00 to 15:15, the European Movement International, together with the European Movement Lithuania, brought together policy-makers, diplomats and experts for an online panel discussion entitled “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the European Union’s Response: What’s Next?”.
Russia’s brutal and unjustified invasion of Ukraine has fundamentally altered the security landscape in Europe. The EU has responded with determination and solidarity, showing its support through sanctions against Russia and the provision of financial and military assistance. But as the war drags on, the EU needs to reconsider its strategic response. Furthermore, the EU has granted Ukraine candidate status, setting it on the path towards EU membership.
