We had the chance to test the new Samsung Galaxy S8 for a couple of hours and decided to test how well the smart phone's camera performs when shooting 4K video.
Most of the footage was captured while having the camera mounted on a 3-axis hand-held gimbal. Watch our review of the Zhiyun Smooth Q camera stabilizer here: [ Ссылка ]
For the other shots the Galaxy S8 was mounted on a tripod with a video head. When using the camera hand-held there's still a heavy jitter/rolling shutter visible which was also the main reason we mounted the phone on the Smooth Q gimbal.

The timelapse and hyperlapse sequences were all shot in video mode and sped up in post to create a timelapse effect.
The footage was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro and color graded using the integrated Lumetri panel. The video clips were cropped to make it fit a 2.35:1 aspect ratio to give the video a bit more of a cinematic look.
Overall the quality when recording 4K video is quite impressive although the difference between the Galaxy S7 and the new Galaxy S8 doesn't seem to be very noticeable. In some shooting scenarious the camera had trouble focusing properly which is visible in two shots of this video.
