This animation provides an overview of uterine anatomy, PAP smear techniques, and cervical cancer. It stars with a view of a patient being inspected on an examination table. The cervix is shown, which rotates into a cross-section view of the vagina, cervix and uterus. A speculum widens the vagina. An inset of the cervix shows the limits of the transformation zone. A PAP smear is demonstrated. Endocervical curettage is demonstrated. Excision of the transformation zone is demonstrated on both perspectives. The common locations of cervical cancer are shown.
