The Prince of Wales established Turquoise Mountain in 2006, with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, to restore the area and revive the art of traditional crafts there.
Five years on, the project is now complete, with water supplies, sanitation systems, and a primary school and health clinic for members of the local community.
At the heart of Murad Khane, is the National Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture, which offers men and women three year courses in traditional Afghan crafts.
