Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions pared down to a trio for this NYC radio studio performance, with Hope Sandoval, Colm Ó Cíosóig, and Dave Brennan. Recorded Oct. 24, 2017, and made available on WFUV's site on Oct. 30, 2017.
Hope Sandoval and The Warm Inventions completed a 10-date October, 2017 U.S. tour on Oct. 22 at Brooklyn, NYC (venue: Brooklyn Steel). Two days later, they did this radio studio session in NYC. They recorded three songs for this radio appearance: Suzanne, Day Disguise, and Let Me Get There. Plus there are interview segments. I've uploaded the entire radio appearance to yt, here: [ Ссылка ]
I thought I'd belatedly upload the three songs individually. This one, Suzanne is the third of three I've upped. This song appears on the 2001 Hope S&TWI album Bavarian Fruit Bread (an album whose 20th anniversary of its release is Oct. 23, 2021), and was written by Hope. Suzanne was released again on a 4-song E.P. in 2002
Here's a factoid I found interesting. Suzanne was not a new Hope song when it was released in 2001, it was already over 12 years old, QUOTE:
"More atmospheric and ethereal than the blues and folk-based material Sandoval's written with Roback, 'Bavarian [Fruit Bread]' includes a few songs that predate the 12-year-old Mazzy Star, including the sweet 'Suzanne.' (-Billboard article/interview, 2001, Nov.1)
Maybe Suzanne was a song Hope first did with her early musical partner Sylvia Gomez in their 1980s duo Going Home. I'm just guessing.
