“There’s all kinds of CODAs. There are CODAs that sign fluently, there are CODAs that don’t sign fluently, CODAs who really get into their parents lives and deaf culture… I mean, every CODA is different. So they probably thought of things that they could relate to growing up with me as their mother. I’m the only person in our family who’s deaf but they loved it and they loved the cast.”
