In Florence for a day, and we tour the Churches since all the Museums are closed on Strike. We go to Novella, which is closed, and arrive at the Duomo to look at great architecture and art frescoes. Located in Piazza del Duomo, the Basilica di santa Maria del Fiore (Basilica of St.. Mary of the Fower), the Gothic style church was begun in 1296 by designer Arnolfo di cambio and completed 1436 and engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi. The facade is Polychrome Marble Panels, and it is the largest Brick Dome ever constructed.
Dilirious, and without much sleep we dance our way thru the structure, for we have a mission to see all of Florence.
