presented by Rev. Jake Morrill
On this MLK Day Sunday, 2024, we pause to consider non-violence, around which Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, built his strategy and his legacy. Non-violence depends on awakening a moral sensibility in others. How relevant is such an approach in 2024, with the bonds of interdependence frayed and violations of human dignity so pervasive? How does non-violence look in our domestic sphere of relationships with loved ones and not-so-loved ones? This service invites you to reflect on these questions and recommit to higher ground.
Rev. Jake Morrill grew up attending Tennessee Valley UU Church and served as Lead Minister of the Oak Ridge UU Church for 19 years, stepping down in 2022 to become a full-time leadership coach and consultant (www.gentogenleadership.com). He and his wife, Molly, are the proud parents of two teens.
