We're at it again... my friends (George and BY) and I decided to do a 4-day motorbike loop around the Aurora and Cagayan Valley region, where we'll ride through 6 provinces in the northeastern part of the Philippines, cross the Sierra mountain range twice and pass the Cordillera mountain range (two of the more famous mountain ranges in the Philippines), as well as the Caraballo mountain range. I'm Joel Syquia, and our objective for this ride is to explore three historical churches in the provinces of Aurora and Isabela that seem to be off the beaten track of tourists who visit this part of the Philippines... but which hold significant places in the country's rich history.
In this 2nd Episode, we'll ride through the twisty roads of the Sierra Madre mountain range that will take us from Aurora province to Quirino province. We'll then ride further north to Tumauini, Isabela to find the San Matias Parish Church, which is possibly the most unique historic church I have ever seen to date, with its belfry that resembles a wedding cake. We'll then ride to Tuguegarao City in Cagayan to rest for the night.
