History of Maambong
Before the immigration of the Dumagat Tribes from various Places in Mindanao, they build their simple houses in a group. Around them, a large grass called “Along- along” and the name of the group is “along-alongan”. The population and transferred along the creek named Dampalanin honor creek.
In Dampalan, increases their population until the other tribe mixed themselves on the group. They changed the name of the creek to Maambongay Creek. They build their houses in the group and name it Maambong under the leader of Barrio Liutenant Alfredo Abella, from that time up to the present. The creek name the place Maambong and this creek still exist at present Punong Barangay Teofilo Benting and maintained the growing capacity of his Barangay.
