If you’re just getting into workwear, don’t just buy items without a plan.
Instead, build out a workwear capsule so your wardrobe can be both cost effective AND versatile.
I think 1 killer jacket, 2 over shirts, 2 jeans, 1 pair of boots, and 1 belt to match make a solid foundation. Modify the choices to make sense for you. For example, I don’t have a heavy flannel shirt in my mix because it’s not completely necessary for my climate.
Consider your climate, preferred colors, and a piece or two that you’re really drawn to. Then get building!
Why 7 pieces instead of 5 (or any other number?). Because 5 pieces yields only 3 looks. Adding another over shirt and jeans brings you all the way to 8 looks, which I feel is sufficient variety to call it an actual wardrobe.
