The WH1125A weld head is configured with an 1/8" copper electrode that has been tapered down to 0.1" at the tip in the upper electrode holder, and a flat tipped 1/8" copper electrode in the lower holder.  The force setting is increased to 15lbs to help squeeze the steel together and help alleviate weld splash.

The CD630DPM2 is ideal for quickly welding these stainless steel samples.  The welds are strong and easily performed.  The process could be simplified using a fixture designed to hold the two legs in place during the weld.  The system can also be easily used in an automated process.
