Four miles off the Kona Coast we hung behind the boat by 50 foot ropes over 6,000 (yes, three zeroes) feet of blue open ocean in the dark to witness the nightly migration of millions (billions?) of larval sea creatures make the trip from the muck below to the surface to feed. Most bring their own internal lighting systems. They will do it again tomorrow night, and the next. It was once in a lifetime for me. Nature rocks.
