The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has revealed the number of new businesses created in Australia last year has been raised by seven per cent.

The ABS also revealed the biggest increase was in the construction industry. They further revealed the total number of actively trading businesses is 2.57 million and reported there was 305 thousand business closures.
