After Supreme Court's observation and remark over forced conversion Uttarakhand government passed an act of forced conversion. Two days ago Supreme Court raised a red flag over the forced conversion, and now the Uttarakhand government has come up with a law that states four years of imprisonment. Top Court made remarks after hearing the PIL filed by Delhi BJP leader and Advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay seeking an offense over the forced conversion to be inserted into the Indian Penal Code. Supreme court, in its observation, sent an ample warning over the existence of this concept. Uttarakhand cabinet chaired by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami decided to put forced conversion under cognizable offense.
