my first time trying WRX STi so i am playing it safe. the point here is to show Danny, who never been to the circuit, something he can hopefully follow and replicate as a basic knowledge. i feel i am going too slow into turn 3, but since i only have 1 lap, it was the right decision because turn 4 is where the massive understeer occur...
when i reach big S, that is when i realise this car need a strict: slow in, hard brakes and fast out. you can break rear traction too so it is better to turn really really late... a habit that i am not used to.
this car steering is really really sharp compared to floppy german cars and the shifting need to be percise. it got massive understeer because of the way i drive. so basically for beginner it is ok to follow this neutral line, but i think RWD driver will need few more laps adjusting to the car understeer nature.
it is a great car, but you need to be discipline and strict on your point to point. it suits people who don’t like unpredictability and it is stern in the level of feedback given to driver’s input... i think the car can go faster but not possible for me for the time frame we had. thank you Danny for letting me drive his baby. i hope you enjoy the session as much as i do.
