Because I wanted a private onsen experience, I decided to splurge on a luxurious stay. Yes, I know $600 per night is quite steep, even with breakfast and kaiseki dinner included. I understand. Their regular rooms are priced around $200. However, this was their most premium room, and there are only two available, complete with a private onsen! The interior design was absolutely stunning, and it made my trip even more special.
Having the freedom to wake up and soak in the onsen without any interruptions was incredibly relaxing. Plus, the room offered a breathtaking panoramic view of Noboribetsu's famous Jigokudani Hell Valley.
If you're curious about ryokans in general, this one is definitely worth considering. It's regarded as one of the best in Noboribetsu, boasting a total of 15 public hot spring baths, each with its unique healing properties. Trust me, the experience is worth every penny.
