The first lift replacement for this block has been completed! This is a brand new 2024 iFE and we have seen how they’ve come about in a while. Interestingly the supplier’s brand is also included in the decal which we know as Chevalier.
This brand new iFE is a total upgrade compared to the Express lift it replaced. Whilst the Express lift felt sturdier, it feels quite sluggish, it feels like there are 3 anvils weighing the lift car down! So the new iFE’s feel much lighter, and of course the main upgrade would be the speed, the previous lift’s speed ran at a snail pace 1m/s and the new lift runs at about 1.5m/s. Its a godsend.
Some differences I noticed about this new iFE is the acceleration/deceleration is more gentler, plus the lift’s reaction timing for the doors to open after it has been levelled is pretty good - around 2 seconds ish, of course it would’ve been better if it had predoors but predoors are rare in HDB estates such as the high rise Mitsubishi’s in Toa Payoh and the new Hitachi’s in Punggol NorthShore. The decal also includes the serial number and the year installed(hoorah!). Also note that the capacity rating of this lift is larger for a 10 persons lift, rated at 750kg! A rating normally used for lift capacities of 11 persons!
