In the continuing series Fall 2020 Welcome to Class, Premilla Nadasen, a professor of history at Barnard College, discusses her upcoming class COVID-19 and Care Work: An Oral History Approach. In the course, students will interview essential workers to create an archive of their experiences, feelings, and challenges working throughout the pandemic. Students will have the support of the Columbia University oral history program to help them document conversations with the workers who keep our society functioning now. Nadasen says she hopes the class will also inspire student support and activism during this time of social unrest and reckoning.
