About the Design :
Arguably the most demanding room in the Home.
There’s a fine balance where the need for practicality in a kitchen can take priority over aesthetics.
I’ve designed this space with the ceiling feature to connect the Kitchen, Family space and Dining area. I’ve pulled through the finishes in the Family and Dining area to harmonise the whole room.
You may notice the Artwork, Accessories & Lighting I spotted at the Paris Fair used in the interior. I've taken these elements and made my own version. Please take a look at our post from the Paris Maison Fair.
The Kitchen is the heart of the Home. Where we grab a snack on the go, or we want to spend quality time socialising with friends and family over a leisurely meal.
There's as useful Homework & Study Area too. I've purposely designed it in a smart wood veneer with a leather top to compliment the high spec of the other pieces.
The Dining Area has a beautiful marble top dining table. I think round tables area wonderfully democratic. Really, this area is all about enjoying the view of the garden. Which is why I placed the solid sideboard on the main wall and the open console infront of the windows. I love designing bespoke furniture and the sideboard has been designed by me. Its a key feature and sets the luxurious yet informal tone of the whole room. Did you notice the flooring has been laid with a path from the entrance doors to the feature sideboard?
In the evenings the pendant lights above the Dining table creates a softer mood.
The Family area has the feature fireplace with the TV above. It's wonderfully inviting space to relax with your loved ones in the evening. I've covered the sofa in a practical dark green boulce fabric which is child and pet friendly.
I hope you like the interior and marriage of connecting these important areas in an open plan space. You can see the numerous finishes in the montage I've included.
