Located at 247 Mulberry Street in New York City, the Ravenite Social Club was a legendary hub for Mafia activity in Little Italy for over six decades. Originally the Knights of Alto Social Club, it hosted mob titans like Lucky Luciano and Albert Anastasia. In the mid-20th century, the club became synonymous with the Gambino family under the leadership of underboss Neil Dellacroce.
After Paul Castellano succeeded Carlo Gambino in 1976, internal tensions erupted. Under Dellacroce’s guidance, John Gotti rose to power, ultimately orchestrating Castellano’s rubout in 1985. Gotti made the Ravenite his headquarters, but FBI surveillance in an upstairs apartment exposed the inner workings of the Gambino family.
Gotti’s 1992 conviction marked the end of the Ravenite era. Seized by authorities and sold at auction, the building now stands as a silent witness to the history of organized crime in New York City.
