Pori Uppuma
INGREDIENTS
Puffed Rice (Arisi Pori) - 2 Cups
Peeled Garlic - 7 Flakes
Finely Cut onions - 100 gms
Salt - To Taste
Red Chilli Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Dhal Powder (Paruppu Podi) - 1 1/2 Tblsp
Oil - For Frying
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 Tsp
Black Gram Dhal - 1 Tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 Spring
METHOD
1. Rinse puffed rice in water which is kept in a large bowl.
2. Squeeze and take out.
3. Heat oil in a 'Kadai'. Add seasonings, garlic and then onions.
4. Fry till transparent. Add squeezed puffed rice, salt, chilli powder and dhal powder (which is used along with cooked rice to eat - Andhra Style Podi)
5. Fry well for few minutes. Serve
