In this excerpt, Bream remembers the remarkable story of his first meeting with Villa-Lobos and discusses the way the composer wanted his guitar music to be performed. This is a wonderful testimony of Villa-Lobos's harsh, sincere and contradictory personality ("He's a sort of man that can say 'No, I don't like that' and grab the instrument from you and show you how he likes it, very feel composers can do that.") and of the artistic encounter of two different generations in the history of classical guitar, two of the most talented artists of all time for the instrument.
