Muay Thai clinching is about utilizing angles and momentum to destabilize and trip your opponent. Control in the clinch is achieved by understanding the body’s anatomy and balance, not with brute strength – or you will tire yourselves out very quickly.
Here’s a sweep technique that I sometimes refer to as “Combing Your Hair”:
You start with pressing your hand against your ear when your opponent attempts a single arm collar tie. Comb your hand through the top of your head as you lift up your partner’s arm above your head. Step in between his feet with the same leg, and jerk your knee up against his thigh to get him off balance, while pulling the opposite hand down towards your hip at the same time.
No strength needed, only speed and momentum if you do it correctly.😉👌🏼
