India is reeling from a rise in violent attacks on women. From 2012 to 2016, reported rapes of children more than doubled, and in the past month alone there were at least three separate incidents where teenage girls were raped and burned alive. Why are these crimes on the rise? Is it a question of India's patriarchal society, is there insufficient political will or is the country's male-female imbalance partially to blame? We asked Prabhat Kumar from Save the Children India.
